'A hundred pounds of dynamite' is a film documented by Director Daniel Gitman. The film talks about the story of a 17-year-old Israeli kickboxing girl Shir Cohen. Shir starts her day like any other girl: she wakes up in the morning, brushes her teeth, eats breakfast and goes to school. She struggles with the same thing any teenager girl struggles with, growing up, her social life, her family, but one thing makes her unique is she spends her most of her free time training for international kickboxing competition. And she is quite good. In September, Shir becomes female kickboxing world champion in her age group. A young girl from a small Israeli town found her way to international glory. Between struggling for her family situation, competing with little to no funding, Shir is a small girl with big dreams, tackling them one by one. Today, Daniel Gitman talks about how he came across Shir and why he is so interested in making documentary about her story.
